I’m beat. Seriously, totally worn, on a plane from London Heathrow to Stockholm, Sweden after almost two weeks of crazy fun. How the British wine and food writers look as hot as they do will remain a mystery to me – the amount of good wine and delectable dining that goes down in that town could make a wreck out of most able-bodied men and women. Me, for one, am going straight into detox-mode now, with a week without alcohol and with daily rounds to the gym. Well, at least those are my intentions…
Three wine fairs in a row (RAW, Real Wine Fair and London International Wine Fair/LIWF) is quite a bit to handle, and I might have been more focused by the end had I been able to breath in between. However, I was still very satisfied with the visit. I met so many of the people I have only had contact with through twitter. Some became real friends, some may be future colleagues, and some will be ideal to meet for a drink next time around. There are winemakers I will visit and others’ whose wines I will chase down. Either way, I feel quite happily at home in this nutty industry. Hope we have a future together. It just might be love.
